I am looking for some help from you Montreal fans.

You may know that your owner has been looking to spread his wings and take over a European soccer franchise. I would appreciate some background as to how he is percieved by the fans who support The Canadiens.

We have had some wacky deals recently in the UK where USA Wheeler Dealers have come in and borrowed obscene amounts of money for their purchase plunging their new clubs up the eye balls in long term debt before they even have started.

Everything I read about the guy is all good - but they are not the comments from sports fans of the franchise he owns. So is he as good as it appears?

In the paper today, Mr. Gillett did indeed buy 51% of the Liverpool Football Club, with Tom Hicks, owner of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Stars.
Gillett says regarding the purchase of this team, "we want to add to that lustre not detract from that lustre".
They are going to pay off the 104.3 million dollar debt and build a new 60,000 seat stadium.
Hockey owners spread their love - and their money.
