ESPN is reporting the authorities are calling off the search.

Doesn't look good right now.

Cool Re: Gainey left the team to search for his daughter

They've been searching for 70 hours and they think an experienced swimmer can last 36.

To lose a child is the worst thing that can happen to anybody. Gainey also lost his wife from brain cancer 11 years ago at age 39. Boy, to say I feel
horrible for him is understating it.

Re: Gainey left the team to search for his daughter

They reported the story on the weekend, not telling us at first the name of the woman lost over the side of the ship.
I was shocked when i found out the next day it was gainey's daughter.
can you imagine the fear of being washed over the side of a ship into the ocean? i cannot even think about it.

Cool Re: Gainey left the team to search for his daughter

The only saving thought was that she was an experienced swimmer so she maybe she thought she could ride it out and survive.

He was at the game last night vs Tampa Bay... I haven't seen an interview with him though.
