Canadiens - Islanders Game

The NHL season resumes tonight, and one of the games features Montreal against the New York Islanders. The Canadiens are playoff hopefulls, but tonight begins their great goaltending experiment. With former Hart and Vezina Trophy winner Jose Theodore out for up to two months, either Cristobal Huet or rookie Yann Danis will be in net. Montreal finds themselves just a single point up on Toronto and two ahead of both Atlanta and Boston.

Can they win tonight, and do they have a shot of reaching the playoffs with such inexperienced netminders?

Inexperienced versus past their prime ie Belfour. Quote from belfour this week was that he has to star "playing better". I could have told him that.
Sometimes inexperienced is exciting. Fun to watch, anyway.
I didn't think Theodore was playing so well, anyway.

Cool Re: Canadiens - Islanders Game

Jeez. The Islanders who are starting the 2nd half with a 3 game homestand get the Habs - the team they're trying to catch for the 8th playoff spot. This game was a must win if the Isles are going to make the playoffs.

What happens? Rick DiPietro is "tired"(awwwww) after the Olympics so he couldn't make his start. Instead the million year old Garth Snow gets the call. 3 goals in 13 shots later, DiPietro goes in anyway (I'm so glad Milbury traded Roberto Luongo).

So as usual, the Islanders lay an egg in a game they had to win. Stick a fork in them, they're toast!!!

That is so funny. I had to tell you, I laughed.
I feel for you, coming from a similar situation.
Garth Snow is a million years old. So funny.
At least, there is humour.
