Strange little piece of Canadiens trivia here. We all know about the great players they have had throughout the years and all of the Stanley Cups they've won. But did you know that the first player ever banned from life by the NHL was a former Montreal Canadien? Who was it and why was he banned?

Coutu, interestingly enough, was also involved in the NHL's first multi-player trade when he and Sprague Cleghorn went from Hamilton to the Canadiens for Harry Mummery, Amos Arbour, and Cully Wilson in 1921.
