| Croom finds funds to keep State's staff intact Sylvester Croom began this week stumping for more money and job security for his coaching staff. It appears as if his wish came true. The fourth-year Mississippi State coach said Thursday night that agreements have been reached that will provide more money for his staff, a situation brought to urgency this week by defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson's flirtations with Georgia Tech and South Carolina. Croom would not disclose money figures, adding that details were still undecided and pending final approval. But he said the funding mechanisms are in place to secure the staff through at least 2008. "It's a great Christmas present," Croom said. "Again, I cannot overstate the importance of continuity, of keeping our staff together." Full Story
