| MSU Football: Bowl bid not first objective for Dogs STARKVILLE — With all the talk about bowl games this week here in town, it's easy to overlook what's going to happen today, in front of a possible sellout crowd at Scott Field. It's Ole Miss. It's the Egg Bowl. It's the game of the year. "We want to beat Ole Miss," MSU senior defensive end Avery Hannibal said. "If we beat Ole Miss, the reward is going to a bowl." Hannibal's perspective illustrates the step-by-step process Mississippi State appears to be taking into today's 104th meeting between the two schools. It's the 16th-longest rivalry in college football history; it's the second-longest in the history of the Southeastern Conference. The Golden Egg trophy will be up for grabs for the 80th time.
