| Croom brings new life to MSU We don't want to go all philosophical here, but four years ago Mississippi State changed the perception of its program when Sylvester Croom was hired as coach. Saturday, Croom said his team did the same thing with a 17-12 victory over Alabama – the Bulldogs' second consecutive victory over the Tide and just their 18th in the 92 times the teams have met. "In three hours, we changed the way people look at this program across the nation," said Croom, the first black head football coach in SEC history. The victory moved the Bulldogs to 6-4 – they were 9-25 in Croom's first three seasons – and made them bowl-eligible for the first time since 2000. Full Story
