| Respect on rise Under Croom, opinions of Mississippi State are beginning to change TUSCALOOSA - Maybe that loss last year to Mississippi State really wasn't that bad. Maybe it shouldn't have been the point of no return regarding Alabama's future without former coach Mike Shula. Maybe the Bulldogs aren't that bad after all. "Some of that tells you where our program still is, the fact that they would fire a coach just because Mississippi State won the ball game," MSU coach Sylvester Croom said. "You still say you don't want to give a lot of respect to that program - that was the bottom, the worst of the worst when Mississippi State beats you at home. So they made a coaching change.
