| Saban's hiring a shot at State? STARKVILLE — Nick Saban, and the whole LSU-to-Alabama-turncoat story? Saban, and the whole $4 million contract turning college football's salary structure upside down? Thank Sylvester Croom for that. OK, so maybe that's a big-time stretch. But then again, it's no coincidence that Mike Shula's downfall at Alabama began with his team's loss to Croom's Bulldogs a year ago. And in some ways, it's an indicator of how Mississippi State is still viewed as a program, Croom, the MSU coach, said Monday."That still says that we don't get a lot of respect to that program," Croom said. "That was the bottom, the worst of the worst, when Mississippi State can beat you at home, so they made a coaching change. What that means is, is there's not very much respect out there for our program, and there still isn't. We've still got a long way to go." Full Story
