| Riddell's play adds to MSU QB riddle STARKVILLE — Josh Riddell came up the stairs, and a dozen or so reporters were waiting. He stood for a minute, then the would-be questioners motioned for him to sit behind the table, the one with the microphone on top and the snazzy backdrop behind. He smiled, and laughed to himself. But if he keeps playing like he did here Saturday in Mississippi State's 31-15 win over Gardner-Webb, he'd better get used to the recorders, the cameras and the lights. "I think I did all right," said Riddell, who was 8-of-11 for 124 yards with a touchdown and an interception. "When I went in there, I had a lot of time to throw the ball, the offensive line played well and the receivers caught the ball." Riddell didn't start; that honor went to true freshman Wesley Carroll, who went 4-for-8 for 42 yards. Carroll thought he played well, especially on the first drive, the one that culminated in Anthony Dixon's 9-yard touchdown run. "That was probably the top priority of this game, to go out there, first offensive drive, put points on the board," he said. "Not a field goal, but a touchdown." Riddell's play adds to MSU QB riddle
