| Mississippi State's win at Auburn just might have legs We read and hear all the time in sports about this team or that turning the proverbial corner. It's a difficult turn to make: Off Losing Avenue and on to Winning Street. Which brings us to today's question: Did Mississippi State's football Bulldogs make that turn last Saturday afternoon at Auburn? Has State turned the corner? My answer: Too early to tell. We don't know. And we won't know until we see what happens these next couple months. Sylvester Croom agrees. "I don't know how you can say you've turned the corner until you can look back on it and see which direction you went," Croom said Monday afternoon. "I'd like to think that we did, but I don't know," Croom said. Croom speaks from experience. His Bulldog teams have had big victories in the past, victories that could have signalled a turn in fortunes. Instead, State stalled in mid-turn. You ask me, this was the fourth huge victory of Croom's three-plus seasons at State. The previous three: Defeated Florida 38-31 on Oct. 23, 2004. Then lost three of the next four including a demoralizing 20-3 defeat at the hands of Ole Miss in David Cutliffe's last game as a Rebel. MSU's win at Auburn just might have legs
