| MSU O-line: Experience, depth create optimism STARKVILLE — The offensive line position meeting turned into math class for Mississippi State on Monday, when position coach J.B. Grimes asked his players how many games in which they've started. The total? A robust 58 combined starts among the starting five, and that rises to 65 when including backup Michael Gates' starts. Compare it to last season, when Grimes sent a collective 35 starts - including two Bulldogs who had never started a game - onto the field to open the season against South Carolina. Now, he feels like he has a unit that's as deep as it has been in the staff's four seasons. "That allows you to do some things from an offensive line standpoint that you haven't been able to do in the past, simply because of inexperience," Grimes said.
