| Mississippi State: Injuries not a big concern STARKVILLE — A fresh batch of players being held out of practice this week isn’t a cause for alarm, MSU coach Sylvester Croom said after Tuesday’s practice. The task now is making sure the injured players get the proper mix of rest and work in order for them to be sharp for the Aug. 30 season opener against LSU. “I’m not worried about them playing in the first game,” Croom said. “I think most of them would have to be dead not to play in the first game.” Among those who didn’t participate in Monday’s practice, for a variety of injuries: wide receiver Tony Burks, tight end Dezmond Sherrod, tight end Brandon Henderson, wide receiver Ryan Mason, defensive lineman Kyle Love and defensive lineman Charles Burns.
