| Change Of Atmosphere Spurs Another Good Day For MSU Mississippi State head football coach Sylvester Croom worked his club indoors Wednesday, spending considerable time on red zone offense and defense, and the boss noted more spring in his team’s step. “I don’t know if it’s breaking the monotony of the routine, or what, but we had another good day of work today,” Croom said. “Students are back on the campus, checking in the dorms, it’s beginning to feel a little more like football. It probably helps that we are letting up a little on practice, too.” In addition to being inside the air conditioned Palmeiro Center, the Bulldogs again worked in shells only, donning just head gear and shoulder pads for the full, two hour and 30 minute drill. Croom indicated his defense performed well in pass coverage on the goal line, but needs to shore up its ability to stop the run. “We didn’t do quite as well on offense down there,” Croom said of the work in the red zone. “It gets a little tougher to throw the football down there. That’s where your playmakers have to step up.” Change Of Atmosphere Spurs Another Good Day For MSU
