59-year-old Tom Watson shot a 5-under 65 during the first round of the British Open today. Had he held onto the lead, he would've been the oldest golfer to ever lead at a PGA Tour major. He didn't, but here's hoping he sticks around near the top of the leaderboard all weekend. It's improbable, but I'd love to see him win it.

I was pulling for Lucas Glover at first, considering I'm living two miles from Clemson. But considering that the boy ain't doing so well, and also that Tom Watson is kicking some butt... I figured I'd pull for the Geritol guy.

He will be 60 in 2 months and had hip replacement surgery 9 months ago.

He was incredible... this was the first time I was interested in golf when Tiger was not vying for the win... just awesome! Wish he would've won!
