Just not a car guy, so I can't get into them going around in circles for endless laps...though I watch track and field and it amounts to much the same thing...not picking on the drivers per say...but watching Gordon or Stewart lead for like 50 laps in a row jsut doesn't do it for me...at least in track they are chasing the clock, or representing the thier country...plus I enjoy running...

Re: Most Boring Sport Of All Time

I have nothing against Nascar or car racing, but come on, let's face it. It is not a tragedy when someone crashes and dies, it is an inevitability. Why should anyone be surprised when people driving 200 mph are killed while driving? Let's not pretend that this is in anyway a safe sport. And let's not feign amazement when a driver crashes and is killed.

Well, I usually don't venture out of the Nascar forum but somehow I saw this one, and are you guys in for it. Ah, just kidding. All Nascar fans know it's a dangerous sport. We are not amazed when a driver is killed or hurt. We are amazed that it doesn't happen more often like last week when Stewart landed upside down on the drivers side. Some races are boring though, when there's no passing.

I used to be a huge NBA fan but now I can't watch a game without falling asleep. But anyway, my vote is bowling for most boring sport.

Actually bowling is one of the largest participation sports there is. It is both an individual and team effort. Unfortunately for the pro's in the sport the rewards are minor in comparison to other sports. For the average once or twice a week bowler satisfaction is about the only reward.

Smoke ... I'll see you back at the NASCAR forums !

Hey, you found this one too. I like to bowl but I find it really boring to watch on TV. Do you bowl? Would you or do you watch it on TV?

Ill have to say basketball. They blow too many whistles and no basket matters in the game except for the last 2 or 3 minutes when the game is always up for grabs.

Yes I do bowl. Not great at it but I do bowl with my son who ended the season with a 228 average. Not bad for a kid. Actually he was once on the pro tour but just didn't quite have what it took. He decided to get married instead. Seems happier now. We actually watch bowling and when my son is home for luch he watches ESPN classic from 12-1 PM. Lots of good old tournaments on.

Re: Most Boring Sport Of All Time

I think bowling is boring because it is a "sport" that basically attracts unfit unattractive people.
I knew GDK would be offended when he saw that "soccer is boring" line.
I am going to say synchronized swimming. They screw up if they forget to smile. C'mon.

If you think that they are unfit then you really ought to look into the sport a bit. My son toured for a while and exercise was a part of his and many other touring pros daily regement.

I got your back on the Bowling...cause, like I am fit and attractive and I have only bowled over 100 once in my life...oh, and I once got kicked out of a bowling alley for running half way down the lane before releasing the ball...cause, I needed to get closer... ...the manager flipped out...and my date laughed her head off...and yeah, I don't know why I took a date to a bowling alley...tennis would have been better....

But okay synch swiming...look I don't favor the sport...it hasn't been the same since the great Tracie Ruiz and Candy Costie swam (danced???) for the USA...and won 2 gold medals...During her 16-year career (Ruiz) from 1973-1988, she captured 41 gold medals, including the 1982 World Championship solo and figures titles, and won at the 1983 and 1987 Pan American Games...

but okay....so I only watched it cause she was cute...does that make me a bad person...

Re: Most Boring Sport Of All Time

I know its not a sport but pro-wrestling is boring when they show the actual wrestling parts. When they show the hot redhead that won the contest and did Playboy, Vince McMahon going to churches in the tri-state area and challenging God to a fight and The Undertaker shooting lightining from his fingertip its a lot of fun. Vince really wants to wrestle God and replace Christianity with what he calls McMahonism. Vince wants to be the new God I suppose. This is what happens when you have too much money and you let your mind wander.

Ok.
What I do think is, bowling is fun to go out and do with friends - and GDK, it's a great idea for a date - even if you embarrass yourself. Maybe she found you endearing.
I always thought, if you can drink beer while you're doing it, it can't count as a sport. Like shooting pool. But maybe I'd be better at it if I wasn't drinking.
Well, I give you bowling, then you give me curling.
