Golf! At least in soccer, they are doing something athletic at all times. In golf, you are just watching canned boredom.

I can see where someone who plays can watch it, and I will catch the last few holes, if I know it has been a close game, but to just sit there for hours on end watching men chase a little white ball?

Golf, soccer and lacrosse are tough sports to watch for me.

With golf, for the obvious reasons. The only time I may watch is if I'm flipping and I see Tiger is on. Otherwise, it's too slow and prodding.

Soccer, I respect the athletes but I just can't get into it. It takes too much strategy too long to make something happen.

Lacrosse, is fun for a few minutes but then I get a bit tired of seeing guys run around with a stick. Plus it doesn't help that the ball they use is almost the size of a golf ball.

I mean Tennis is pretty pointless, except for the fact that you get a really good workout and you play against another person directly and you can win, makes for great betting, but golf is......PUTTING A BALL IN A HOLE!!!

while many golfers out there on the pro-tour look like me (or worse), Tiger is an athlete and in the best shape by far

let's see, Tiger is an in shape athlete playing against dumpy middle aged guys for the most part ........ is it just a coincidence he wins most of the tournaments ?

seems the other guys would get the hint and get into shape

Coincidence ???? No, not at all. He is great at what he does and I would suggest that someone else's build has little effect on their ability. Look at pitchers in baseball. Many of them are not as shapely as the rest on the team but they do get the job done ... OK some of them do. Point is that ability doesn't necessarily tie itself to ones appearance.

This is true but .... it's how you get it there that counts. In baseball the pitcher is JUST throwing the ball at a glove, in basketball you're just putting the ball in a hoop. Point is that in each and every sport you can simplify it to the basics if you want and especially if you are not interested in the sport. Can you bet on fishing? I don't think so, as much of a boring sport I think Golf is, you can still bet on it.

If you can't bet on something, it's not a sport. I mean by physical activity that is, a physical activity that you can bet on is a sport.
