For me despite living in the Bronx it's baseball. Baseball is nothing more than a half hour game that they stretch out into 3 and a half hours. My favorite is when a pitcher has to throw to first base 15 times to keep a 38 year old DH close to the bag obviously for no reason whatsoever save he doesn't want to pitch or is stalling for time. Stalling for time! That's another big part of the game. Someone always seems to be stalling for time and they have like a thousand ways to do it too!!! Some spectator sport huh? Ironically on the subject of boring baseball, comedian George Carlin also was discussing it's boringness and came up with some ways to speed up the game and make it more interesting:
1. When a pitcher hits you with the ball you're out. You can knock the whole game out in 20 minutes.
2. Each batter gets 1 swing. Make it count!
3. Put landmines in the outfield. Granted this one might perhaps be controversial but imagine a guy going back...way back for a ball hit deep and BOOM!!! Time to send a new guy off the bench into right field.
While George was doing his routine and not serious (I think!) still think baseball is the most drawn out sport there is. Just a bunch of guys standing around. It's like golf except they run a path after hitting the ball. YAWN!!!
