A-Rod easy...let me know when its one of the top two women in tennis history...honestly I would have taken say, Chrissy Evert over A-Rod...but not Williams

Between yesterday and today, these are starting to get really good. On the one hand, you have A-Rod - multiple time MVP, arguably the greatest player of the past decade in baseball, and a sure-fire future Home Run King. On the other hand, you've got Serena, tremendous success in an individual sport and a smart, determined businesswoman off the courts. Both of them have tremendous merit, and it's really hard to pick one. I have to give the edge to A-Rod on potential, because I believe he's still got a lot more left he can accomplish, sports-wise, than Williams.

That wouldn't be fair, Goth. It's not like A-Rod is a top two or three all-time baseball player. Yet.

I'd say they're ranked pretty evenly in terms of their position in their respective sports.

They are both great athletes, so I consider that a draw. A-Rod is a media draw. He gets a story no matter what he does. Serena in my opinion is hurt by a sport that is looking for attention

gotta go with A Rod on this one, he just seems on a different level to Serena and even though she is/was the best in the world at her tennis level (womens singles) there is something more about A Rod that tips the scales, maybe its just the difference in the sports they play, but in terms of being the Ultimate Sports Star, A-Rod seems to beat Serena hands down

i pick Serena for 2 reasons .... both the criteria laid out in the beginning

i believe internationally she is a bigger star

Australian Open .... Wimbledon .... French Open ..... Serena is well known at all of these events ..... how many people at these places even have heard of A-Rod ?

i think Serena has done much more in her sport then A-Rod has in his ........ Let's say 4 Major Titles equal one World Series ring ....... Serena is leading in this area 2-0 if you accept my values for the titles

hell her 28 titles, in my mind, equals everything A-Rod has done on the field
