-Just had first child name Sam Alexis Woods
David Beckham -Was Captain of the English national team for 5 years
-7 permeire league titles (6 Machester Untied 1 Real Mardid)
-Signed a 5-year $250 million deal
-is married to Posh Spice

I went with Tiger because if im walking down the street and Tiger walks up to me alone I'm going to know "your Tiger Woods"

David Beckham walks up to me I'll think about it for moment then realize your David Beckham

Then add other factors like 100 mil in endorsements Yes Beckham has Posh but Tiger has a model for wife too.So Tiger easy.

I know Becks and Tiger are basically carbon copies of each other - far and away the biggest names in their respective sports. But Tiger's still got a long way to go in his career, and Beckham's on the downside of his. Only one of them will definitively be known as the best athlete his sport has even seen when all is said and done, so because of that, I think I have to go with Woods in this one.

But Woods can't bend it like Beckham...got to go with the footballer on this one...

there are so many things wrong with all that...

for one David Beckham is probably one of the most recognisable sports faces in the world, not only for his global celebrity status but also becuase every country in the world has soccer fans in it, from the US the Nepal and from Russia to Africa so i think its more likely people are going to recognise 'the face of soccer' than the 'face of golf' since pro golf doesnt have the national aclaim that soccer does

secondly Tiger may have $100 in endoursments but the Beckham brand sells everything world wide from aftershave to clothes to food to kitty litter (you would be suprised what his East Asian fans would buy if it has Beckham assosiated with it.

tiger has Nike and whatever else...beckham has addidas, gillette, his soccer camps and pretty much anything he can stick his name to not just personally but in conjunction with his wife selling the "Beckham Brand" so if your going to compare endoursments and the revenue and profit they make each year i think Beckham over shadows Tiger on that account...and before anyone mentions it, yes im aware that Tiger is the highest paid sports person in the world but ive been talking about merchandise and what Beckham sells by attatching his name to it rather than just what he gets played to kick a leather ball around a field

but if we are talking about their on the field/course accomplishments...at their peaks tiger probably edges out Beckham, but that is not taking into account the difference in physical requirements soccer has compared to golf and the fact its probably easier to be a great golfer than to be a great soccer player and to captain your country

I'm guessing you mean international acclaim, cause here in the States, I definitely think Tiger is far and away the more recognizable of the two. Let's not forget the impact Woods has had in bringing the perception of golf away from just being a game for rich caucasian males and to women and people of all races and social statuses. I'll never forget that "I am Tiger Woods" series of commercials for a few years back. He turned golf into a sport for everyone.
