Both are very popular and just about equal in terms of endorsements and pop culture relevance. Shaq has accomplished more throughout his career than Dale Jr. but Junior is the hotter property as of right now and has the brighter future. With a nod to what he's accomplished throughout his career (although the exclusion of a guy like Roger Clemens tells me we're not supposed to focus too much on the past, but whatever), I give the nod to O'Neal.

I'm still miffed that Shaq made the list and Clemens didn't. They're carbon copies of each other - older superstars with fantastic resumes on the downsides of their respective careers. How is it that we're supposed to count one's legacy and not the others? That's the only reason I debated putting Junior ahead.

Well since no one else is gonna vote for him ill do the honors, Dale may not rack up as good of stats as of shaqs but Dales got more off field buzz, not counting hes nascars most popular driver..

I was, naturally, heavily in favor of Jr. .. but that reserve cop item toppled my idol. gotta go with the Shaq just 'cause of the law and order aspect vs the jeans & beer hawker (though I'm partial to both.) besides Shaq is from just down the road in San Antonio (yeah, I know he wasn't born in Texas, but he got here as fast as he could so I don't count that against him.)
