- is number one one in the world rankings
- has 100 million dallars in Indoursements for Nike ,GM ,and other major companys
-is married to Former Swedish model Elin Nodergen
- Recently had 1st child named Sam Alexis Woods

Vince Young -was 2007 NFL rookie of the year
-Lead the Texas to the national tital over USC in 06/07
-Lead Texas to a Rose Bowl win over Michigan in 05/06
- is the Madden 08 cover boy

i got to go Tiger on this theres just to much playing in his favor. Vince Young has the madden cover thing going for but Tiger has his own video and loads of other things.

This isn't even close. Young was a rookie last year. Tiger's the face of golf. Woods wins easily in my book.

like i said before this is an unfair comparrison. Tiger Woods has been around for years and won everything going in terms of golfing tropheys and awards, has built an empire under his own name and is the highest paid sports star in the world.

Vince is still a young guy, only just come out of college and played a year in the NFL, fair enough he won most of the rookie awards last season and played excellent but hes still only being playing pro ball for a year.

if you wanna have someone compete against Tiger then have Babe Ruth or Dan Marino or Pete Sampras or Diego Maradona...you cant expect a guy who has been playing football at a pro level for one year to be able to compete against someone like Tiger Woods, come on

If you ask the question, who is the biggest "sports star," without a doubt, it's Tiger Woods. He trancends the sport.

Nobody has this been this big as far as star power goes...since Michael Jordan.

But clearly, Vince Young is a better athlete. So it depends what question you want answered.

Yeah, yeah, technicalities. Young would smoke him in a 40-yard dash. But hey, I think we're supposed to be looking at a combination of accomplishments within their sport, popularity and marketability. At least, I think so. Criteria for this is very poorly defined I'm afraid.

yes i agree Tiger is obviously much more accomplished and more well known ............. but i discount all that as i disqualify him for playing a non-sport with other non-athletes

he should be lumped with curling and chess greats

Just curious, but have you ever played a round of golf? Very physically demanding, especially on the back and even moreso if you don't use carts.

yeah, had a great experience with it in Germany actually ..... was a scramble with guys from my Army unit, my team finished 2nd ..... i wasnt very good at all, but on the 18th hole i made a great putt and most everyone else in the unit was sitting on the balcony watching ....... they all cheered for me

Simon, how can you say golf isnt a sport? Chess greats? Its not a mind game, its a physical thing.

i think the problem with trying to play these guys against each other is that Tiger is dominating a sport in which he is pretty much the only guy there, there are obviously a few exceptions to this. Vince however is in a sport where he is not dominating and having to compete with hundreds of other players. even the best NFL players never dominated the sport in the way that Tiger single handedly dominates golf.

there is an argument that the Pats have dominated football, as have the Raiders, Bears, Packers, 49ers...of the past, but no one player has ever dominated the sport becuase it is a team game, and Tiger is an invididual so all his accomplishments and failure (the very few he has) are down to him, where as Vince is part of a team.

i can see where you can try and get these to people to compete in terms of who is the better sports man or athelete or whatever but you cant have an invididual, especially someone like Tiger Woods trying to compete with a guy in a team and a league with hundereds of players like Vince. it just doesnt add up
