I'm not a big fan of horse racing, but every year, I make a point of watching the three triple crown races. However, the coverage this year is just bugging the hell out of me. This may sound heartless and mean but I am so tired of hearing about freakin' Barbaro. He's dead, get over it. If you want to mourn a death and make a big deal about it, do it over a person. These idiot announcers are talking about getting tears in their eyes over this stupid horse. Go name to them the most 50 recent deaths in Iraq and they'd have no clue what you're talking about but say the name Barbaro and the sympathy rolls.

To be honest, I was glad when the horse finally died. There is a reason that when a horse breaks a leg, it gets humanely put down. However, thanks to the infatuation with Barbaro by the completely random and frequently stupid American public, they kept him alive, in pain and suffering for numerous months. I mean hell, they're running a TV special on this horse tonight on NBC. It's beyond ridiculous now.

There...I'll step off the soap box now but I had to get that off my chest.

I don't follow the sport either but I usually watch the Kentucky Derby and if the triple crown is possible, the other races. Other than that, I have no interest in the sport. If I were gambling, then I'd be more interested.
