| Mike Piazza is supposed to be this great guy. But he was always selfish. No matter how he hurt his team as catcher,he refused to go to 1st base for the longest time. For Piazza, it was always about breaking that HR record as a catcher. Nothing else. |

Ali was great...I liked him taunting Frazier all the time...great show...where was your sense of humor back then blueandwhite girl... |

| Re: Most Loved Athlete You Hate re ali, i don't like showboats. i like those who are calm about their greatness. Which means I should like lemieux but he just never did it for me. And the hair... And Gretzky vs. lemieux? are you kidding? At least gretzky did some interesting stuff beyond the hockey prizes - he split from Edmonton and broke their hearts to play in LA. Lemieux was vanilla pudding in comparison. |

| Re: Most Loved Athlete You Hate I always prefered Mario over Gretzky. I was too young to see Gretzky in his prime, and my memory of him is whining about the clutch and grab and being forced too easily off the puck. Lemieux, on the other hand, come back from cancer and saved a franchise. |

| Re: Most Loved Athlete You Hate Brett Farve and Ken Griffey Jr.... Everyone loves these two guys and I just never bought in. I grew up watching John Elway and Joe Montana.. To me, those two guys just had something about them that Brett Farve didn't have. In addition to the feeling Farve gives me that he just doesn't respect anyone. A drunk, pain pill junkie, and practice sleeper througher (yeah, I'm talkin' bout' practice). Griffey Jr. is like the Fat Girl that wears "Daisy Dukes", low cut jeans, and mid-drift showing shirts. She thinks she is worth 20 million a year, but really you would be better off getting a bag of balls. |

But I will give you the hair...you can use that against Mario...and yeah, Gretzky bolting for LA was a plus, sort of...I guess...but the only real reason to like "the great one" is cause he once owned a T-206 baseball card of Honus Wagner...I mean on that alone, maybe, maybe I can forgive him for breaking Orr's assist in a season record...maybe... |

| Re: Most Loved Athlete You Hate I'm probably going to irritate some of you when I say this, but Michael Jordan. I used to be a huge NBA fan and when the Bulls won all those championships I was soooo sick of him. MJ this, MJ that. Give it a rest. Now I'm a Nascar fan. |

| Re: Most Loved Athlete You Hate Reggie Miller- but in an adverse way. He was the type of player you enjoyed disliking. I still remember him hitting buzzer beating three's in MSG then taking bows at half-court. What a Baller. Roger Clemens- Good God does this man agitate the hell out of me. He is indecisive as hell and we seem to congratulate him for it. I hope he retires, good riddance. Peyton Manning- Probably the least clutch great quarterback of all time. Whats more annoying is all of the apologists for him. After The Steelers game last year: "It wasn't him it was his offensive line" (though he did catch a little flack for proclaiming that himself). After every single loss to The Patriots: "If they didn't play in cold weather the Colts would win those games". Well I have some discouraging news, it is and will always be cold in New England in January. If nothing else at least Manning's teammates seem to have a lot of antipathy for him. If Indy ever wins a Superbowl with him there I wil be surprised. |

| Re: Most Loved Athlete You Hate Almost all the taunting and mouthing off in sports today traces back to one man-Ali.Watch his old fights and you will see what I mean. He has been glorified by the press and media all these years, a draft dodger who was involved in some of the crookedest fights of all time! I can specifically remember reading about how he made an appearance at a catholic school early in the 70's and made fun of the idea of the Immaculate Conception to the grade school kids. The things he did to denegrate Joe Frazier were uncalled for. |
