Re: Most Hated Athletes I was just trying to come up with some sort of situation to compare Howe's to. I despised him when he was getting all those chances and still screwing up. Imagine my utter horror to find him coming to the Yankees.

Re: Most Hated Athletes My most hated athlete was Cris Carter Eagles/Vikings. My hate for him flourished watching him play the Bears twice a year while with the Vikings. He always looked like a little whiner. If you asked him, every incomplete pass was either the QB's fault or there was pass interference. There are players you hate when they are on the other team, but would love to have on your side. Cris Carter is not one of them. Randy Moss falls in that category. For some reason (I grudgingly admit the reason is probably talent), the Bears rarely got a clean shot on this guy. However, I do recall a few cases of alligator arms. In baseball, Sammy Sosa was my most hated athlete. It started with his time on the south side of Chicago, but blossomed while he was with the Cubs. Athletes that put themselves above the team drive me crazy. Sammy, you could have been a 5 tool guy, but instead you were a tool.

Re: Most Hated Athletes I'd like to second Ray Lewis. I don't hate many athletes, but he just rubs me the wrong way. As do the folks who support him. He is treated like a hero, and while he may not have killed anyone, it is certain he knows what happened many years ago. It is sickening to see a stadium full of fans rain down the cheers upon him, and laud his leadership. He had the chance to do the right things as a man, not an athlete, and he chose the punk life of protecting a killer or killers. No on can top that.
