AFL - Arena Football League

Who here is getting excited about the Arena Football League starting? I know I am. We should show interest in AFL posts so it can get its own forum. Here's a question. Who do you guys think is going to win it all this year?

Re: Afl

It is on ESPN, with Mike & Mike doing play by play, and it will air Monday Nights in the MNF time slot. Good strategy... I will probably watch a little more of it now than I did when NBC aired it on weekends. AFL is OK, but there's something about it that, I dunno, just doesn't feel like football.

Cool Re: Afl

I've gone do a bunch of New York Dragon games. I'll say this about it: It's much better in person than it is on TV. On TV it's sort of boring, but watching the aerial show in person (they must pass 95% of the time), is fun.

Re: AFL - Arena Football League

Glad to have you here, Paka.

I'm an annual season ticket holder to the New York Dragons, primarily following WR Mike Horachek and of course, QB Aaron Garcia. It's a great deal for $106 a year considering it isn't far from my Antartica home.

Re: AFL - Arena Football League

I am also a season ticket holder for the Grand Rapids Rampage and I am looking forward to watching Troy Edwards, the former 16th pick of the NFL draft, at WR. And watching Chris Salisbury at QB.

Boo Simon. Did you know that the "Columbus" Destroyers originated in Buffalo? Yep thats right the Buffalo Destroyers. I went to a few games and found myself staring at the cheerleaders in the aisles instead of watching the high paced, high scoring, wierd motion game unfolding before me. The AFL is a cool idea, but not a great idea. We have too much going on in Buffalo, the fans were far and few between. I imagine places elsewhere are taking the hit, but they have substantial amount of capital to keep with the location. Ahh well, just thought I'd throw in my hometown plug, and put my two cents in on the AFL

Cool Re: AFL - Arena Football League

I live in Long Island so when the Dragons first started playing, I bought season tickets. It was like $15 a seat for about 5 games or so. But it was a late spring ,summer season and they usually played on Saturday nights so I could get to almost all of the games. But then they switched the season to right after the Super Bowl , mostly during the afternoon. There are too many competing events happening with my kids so I had to give up the tix.
