Apples and Oranges- Ted Williams or Harrison Ford?

Which of these two men, tops in their respective fields but winless come World Series/Oscar time, are you going to choose? Williams was "the greatest hitter ever"/ Ford has to be the actor whose movies have grossed more than any others.

No contest, the Splendid Splinter. The man could count the stitches on the ball while at the plate!

Also he WAS a hero in real life, serving in both WWII and Korean War as a Marine pilot. He didn't play one on the big screen.

Wedge!...my man...that hurts...sure Williams was a War Hero across two Wars with over 500 career homer and that .406 in 1941 that everyone remembers...but man, come on, Han Solo was just plain cool...and I really, really, really hate to go here but you left me little room to manuever...here goes, at the risk of haters all over the board getting onto me...one man remains forzen, the other escaped from being frozen (Reference: Revenge of the Jedi)...so I got to go with Han...errr...I mean Ford... ...just messing with you bro...

(side note: you still want to trade for that Andrew Walter jersey card?)

You're kidding, right?

Teddy Ballgame hit .400. Four freaking hundred! When was the last time Harrison Ford played Hall of Fame-caliber ball? I'll tell you when: Raiders of the Lost Ark. My opinion of the whole Star Wars beast franchise aside (don't get me started), those films were hardly made what they are today because of Ford's acting, even if he was the only actor in the second trilogy.

What else with Ford is watchable? Mosquito Coast and Witness, fair enough, but ancient. Frantic? Marginally. Air Force? Don't make me come over there...Teddy Ballgame knew when to hang it up.

Teddy by a length of thousands of splendid splinters!

Now, now Wiz, don't let your pass life as a movie critic rear its ugly head hear...I am sure there are enough females out there that don't give a darn about the .406 in 1941, but who adore Ford enough to tip the scales on this one...but hey thanks for playing man

Teddy Ballgame never won the 'Series, and President Indiana Ford never won the Oscar...

I'll choose Joe DiMaggio or maybe Johnny Depp.

Re: Apples and Oranges- Ted Williams or Harrison Ford?

Harrison Ford made the Kessel Run in less than 10 parsecs.

Can Teddy Ballgame say that? Can he? NO HE CAN'T! Game over.

Re: Apples and Oranges- Ted Williams or Harrison Ford?

Ted Williams was a "Clear and Present Danger" to any pitcher he faced
You never saw Ted attend any "Patrioit Games"
Ted had only good things to say "Regarding Henry" Aaron
Ted was known to force out a single runner at second, Ford was known to "Force 10 from Navarone"
Ted crashed a Panther jet in Korea, Ford crashed Air Force One
Ted was often friends with a rookie, Ford was friends with a Wookie
Williams fought the Commies, Ford fought the Nazis
Williams excelled at the park, Ford excelled with the "Ark"
I call this a "Dead Heat on a Merry-go Round" {Ford's first movie}
Look for Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 4, coming in 2007!

...in which Harrison Ford will be playing the ancient archaeological find itself.

Or in which Ashton Kuchner plays Indy's illegitimate son and fellow youthful adventurer (re: River Phoenix in Raiders III)...
