So, which has been the best brawl of all-time?

One ofthe earliest I can recall was Pete Rose vs Buddy Harrelson in the 1973 NL palyoffs...the one that emptied both benches and had Reds pitcher put on a Mets cap...and then when he realized it, he took a bit out of the cap.

The Red players retreated to the dug out and each took out a bat to protect Rose from the fans...Rose was showered in NYC garbage while in the out field...game almost got called.

That and Terry O'Rielly of the Bruins going into the stands and beating a fan with a shoe.

This whole Melo threw one punch thing...not even on the radar.

The ugliest one had to be the one at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

I always laugh when looking at some of the Knick fights in the 90s. During the Van Gundy era.

Want to check the question one last time before asking... ...there was another team in Utah back then...which was not the Jazz...it was an ABA team...Dave is the only guy ever drafted by four leagues...

Yankees- Orioles in 1998 was a good one, with Benitez involved

Its funny to realize that some of the gretaest moments in sports history, WERE MOMENTS WHEN TEAMS WERE RIPPING EACH OTHER APART!

The '76 Brawl between the Yanks and Red Sox. Piniella running down Fisk started it and then Graig Nettles broke Bill Lee's shoulder with 1 punch...Ah the good old days!

I thought Pedro's tossing of Don Zimmer in the 2004 ALCS was an epic scene, not so much a brawl but that is something that will always stick out to me. I cant remember when, it may have been a playoff game, but it was Yankees and Mariners and the benches cleared after Pettite I think drilled Griffey or something. All of the sudden everyone is converging on the pitcher mound and you can hardly tell who is beating on who because of the camera angle. Then all of the sudden Daryl Strawberry emerges and is whaling on some guys head he had in a headlock. Great stuff

Actually, Gotham it was Mike Milbury who beat the fan with the shoe. This is one reason I always tended to give Milbury the benefit of the doubt, until the last couple of years of his tenure when his mistakes were just unforgivable..
