Favre drama at an end

It looks like the Brett Favre drama show has finally come to an end and it looks like he will wear the Viking Purple.
Word is a contract is near completion and Brett will be at Vikings training camp.
There has been no formal announcement yet.

Re: Favre drama at an end

My grandson is a Viking fan and he has taken a lot of crap from local Packer fans over the years.
This news will make him absolutely ecstatic.
Word is this makes the Vikings the favorite in the NFC North.
Agree?

Re: Favre drama at an end

i think they were prob. the favorite before favre.... i don't see the hub bub with this guy. like last year, he will start the season hot and the media will be amazed and want us to feel the same. Then as the season goes on, he will look like just another washed up qb that should have been in the booth a few years earlier.

I can't wait for that Vikings/Packers game in Green Bay... I hope the pac make him eat his lunch and knock that S--- eating grin off his face!

I agree with loco and he will concentrate on those 2 Green Bay games, start the season ok then fizzle out from mid-season on.Then say he's retireing AGAIN then on to the next team next year.It will be just another stop on the Drama Train Tour.

Re: Favre drama at an end

I just don't understand why Favre has such a problem with Green Bay? What's the beef? they helped making him a hall of fame QB. What did the Pac ever do to Brett to make him have such a chip on his shoulder??

Besides if Brett really wanted to give Green bay the big screw you, why doesn't he just go into the hall of fame as a Jet or Falcon...It is his choice what team he goes in as right?

Would it make them the favorite? Absolutely not, I don't even think this makes them better. Did all the people who say he'll make the Vikings Super Bowl contenders watch the last part of last season. He was awful I guess if he wants to put his interception record completely out of reach this is smart. He can't play in Domes, he can't play outside anymore. It sounds like he can't play. They should've just stuck with Sage Rosenfelts at least he'd manage the game and give them a chance, all Favre does is throw interceptions, it's awful. If the Bears odds don't go up from this it'd be a shame.

First, why is everyone forgetting about that shoulder? No quarterback can throw well in those circumstances.
But bears, you are right. He cant play in domes and he cant play in bitter cold anymore. Those are two big factors in my mind. Maybe Sage will pinch hit for him.
He can probably get used to playing in the Dome, but the cold thing, probably not.
I am not crowning him until I see him play after he heals from the injury.

I'll give you that but are we sure it's really that healthy is minor surgery really going fix a torn tendon? I don't think it does. I'm conviced this is going to be him walking out in shame after the year. Sorry Brett aint wrestling can't fix the revenge tour so you win. This screams bad news for the Vikings which is acutally great news for the Bears

They wouldn't take him back they turned their backs to him, it's not the whole Packers it's just Ted Thompson who will take his angry out on through the Packers

Re: Favre drama at an end

If Favre's playing, then the drama has only just begun.

How many years in a row has this guy pull the "will he play or won't he" shtick? Five? Six? I have to wonder if this serial indecisiveness will cost him the Hall of Fame. I guess probably not, but first timer? Not a guarantee like it once was.

Come on really? you would not give him first time???....I mean anything beyond this point is just padding HOF stats to the point where Peyton Manning might be pressed to actually beat them...

I hope he plays, it will be such fun. Think about Favre and Rodgers facing each other at Green Bay.

Why would it affect his HOF status? If he and the Vikings are successful, a guess will be he hangs it up for good. He will have proved what he set out to prove. . And apparently he doesnt care what effect it has on his HOF status.
This wishy washy stuff doesnt take away what he has accomplished on the field so far.
He hasnt done it that long. It started the year I joined the forum. Do the math.
I wish Pundit was still around. That was fun too. For those of you who werent here then, Pundit hated the Brett Favre drama. And every year I would drag out a post about it and dedicate it to Pundit.
