| TheSportsGuru 2006 NFL Preview - Minnesota Vikings Projected Record 5-11, 3rd Place NFC North Projected Schedule W/L @Washington(L) Carolina (L) Chicago (L) @Buffalo (L) Detroit (W) @Seattle (L) New England (L) @San Francisco(W) Green Bay (W) @Miami (L) Arizona (L) @Chicago (L) @Detroit (L) NY Jets (W) @Green Bay(L) @St. Louis (W) Four Words epitomize what I think of the Minnesota Vikings in 2006: Brad Johnson, Starting Quarterback. the Vikings finally parted ways with Daunte Culpepper in the wake of the “Love Boat” scandel meaning that the team has kicked it’s best two players to the curb the last two off-seasons. Add to that a new head coach in Brad Childress and it is safe to say we can call the current version of the Vikings a team in “transition”. The defense being built in Minnesota is intriguing to say the least, but there are too many holes on offense for this team to make any serious run. The NFC North is the weakest division in football, which could help the Vikings steal a couple, but like the Detroit Lions the important thing for the Vikings is to show progress as the year goes on and to figure out exactly what they are going to do at Quarterback. | Re: TheSportsGuru 2006 NFL Preview - Minnesota Vikings So this is the Minnesota that went 7-2 to end its season last year, with a loaded secondary, healthy receivers and the same quarterback that led the helm for that nine game run. Now they are going 5-11? I have them contending for division champion and the wild card (though I tend to believe the wild card is coming out of the NFC East) with a 10-6 record and the potential for 13-3. The three games that are unwinnable for them are Carolina, New England and @Seattle. Everything else is attainable. However, to stay true to form, In addition to those three, I have them losing the opener in D.C., @Chicago and @St. Louis. This team is too balanced and too strong in certain aspects to go 5-11. I assume you have Chicago winning the division, who do you have finishing second? |

| Re: TheSportsGuru 2006 NFL Preview - Minnesota Vikings Healthy recievers?? Nate Burleson is in Seattle and Koren Robinson is going to get suspended for the year after the DWI last week... The defense is decent, but the loss of Greenway hurts. I am not a Brad Childress fan and Brad Johnson is done. I do like Tavarious Jackson and think he'll be running the show before the season is over. I have the Packers going 8-8 |

| Re: TheSportsGuru 2006 NFL Preview - Minnesota Vikings I forgot about the DUI, but I suppose I was referring to Wlliamson, Taylor and Robinson being sufficient wide outs for this offense. Were just going to have to agree to diagree about Brad Johnson. His stats for that nine game run last season: 12 TD's, 4 interceptions, 1885 yards and a completion percentage over 62%. I will grant you he is getting up there in age (3 |
