Kleinsasser honored

Quote:
Vikings tight end Jim Kleinsasser was inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame over the weekend. Kleinsasser is a native of Carrington and was a star at the University of North Dakota. Kleinsasser attended the school from 1995 to ‘98 — he started as a true freshman — and was drafted by the Vikings in the second round. Kleinsasser might not be a very big part of the passing game these days but he remains a standout blocker.

Re: Kleinsasser honored

Maybe not a big part of the passing game, but a solid player.

Great blocker, though. My kind of guy... the unheralded, hard-nosed blocking tight end.

He is like having a 6th lineman out there and he has been one of my favorites since we drafted him. When you think about it, it's a pretty amazing testament to his blocking skills that he has lasted 10 years with the Vikings despite only going over 200 yards receiving twice.
