| Adrian Peterson Q&A Good to hear that he is feeling good and working hard on improving. Access Vikings: » Blog Archive » Peterson Q&A Quote:
Here is a question-and-answer session Vikings running back Adrian Peterson did after today’s minicamp practice.
Q: How do you feel?
A: We had a good weekend of work. A lot of guys came in and got some work done. You can just see the improvement in some of the young guys. Tarvaris [Jackson], definitely an improvement. Just the team chemistry, you can see a big difference.
Q: Team chemistry, what’s the difference we’re going to see?
A: As far as some of the new additions we’ve made, Bernard Berrian, and on defense, Jared Allen, in addition with some other guys, you just see the different preparedness and how guys are competing out there and finding ways to improve.
Q: How about yourself? How’d you do this weekend?
A: I feel like I did well. I came out to work every day. I came out with the mindset that I needed to improve. I tried to let my teammates feed off that. We fed off each other’s energy out there. I came out and wanted to contribute and get some work done.
Q: Is what we see a good gauge of what to expect, or is it a wait and see until the pads get strapped on?
A: You know, it’s totally different with the pads, but you try to go out there and have the same as far as being on the field, so that’s why we go out there and be so competitive with each other. You see guys talking trash with each other, and that really amps up the energy on both sides of the ball. Being football players, we’re definitely competitive, so we get out there and you really see some good action out there without the pads.
Q: What’s the biggest difference for you this year versus last year in minicamp?
A: [I’m] not as nervous. I definitely understand the offense more. [I’m] more comfortable with a lot of different things.
Q: Did it take a while to get comfortable with the coaches too, whether it’s a head coach or [running backs coach Eric] Bieniemy?
A: Well I’ve been writing EB since high school, so I’ve known him for a while now. No, not really. When you’re with a lot of guys more than you’re with your family, you quickly get used to them and get comfortable around them.
Q: Did you enjoy being around the guys again this weekend?
A: Yeah, it’s always good to be around the guys and just get back in the rhythm of things. There are so many different personalities inside the locker room and outside. You can’t help but love it.
Q: What are you going to do between now and when training camp starts?
A: Just continue to get myself ready for the upcoming season. Like I say, I’m really expecting a lot from this year, and I’m sure all the other guys are expecting a lot. So all I can do is get my body right and make sure I’m prepared for training camp.
