Well, I am thrilled to have Allen
It was a very steep price (1st and both 3rds), but he led the league in sacks, can be impossible to block and is still a young guy. I think he has the talent to be a top 3 DE for the next 5 years (something the Vikes haven't had since Doleman) and with him aboard we should have the best D-line in the game and a top 5 defense. So I guess I would rather get a sure fire stud than take a risk on a DE through the draft. 6 years 74 million with 31 guaranteed is a ton of money, but like I said the Vikes had to have him and I am glad he is aboard.

I should also mention that apparently he often faced double (sometimes even triple) teams in KC, but now he is going to be freed up a bit as teams won't be able to focus solely on him with Fat Pat and Kevin Williams next to him. That said his DUI situation does scare me, but all in all it was a move the Vikes.

this is a great move by the vikings. good defensive lines are the formula for success in the playoffs. ex: giants. he better play insanely good though. he's getting paid a huge amount of money.

Wow, the Chief have 13 draft picks, nice, they need to rebuild and 13 picks can help. Now there is the Vikings who have one, first day draft pick, they don't have huge needs either should be interesting to see what they do.

Wow, didn't realize the Chiefs had that many pics. As for the Vikings I think they go BPA (with the exception of a few positions), personally I would like to go O-line with the first pick, but it depends who falls down.

Well I think they gave up to much and it's a huge contract, but this was a move they had to make.

I agree they needed him, and hes great, but thats a lot to give up, hes now one of highest paid defenders in nfl history..

Allen was awesome in his time with KC (minnesota should be be extremely pleased) but you gotta do what you gotta do for the long term goal of the team. Rebuild now, stop messing around and get the show on the road. This is the time for KC's GM and coach to have a home run of a draft or be gone in three years. Remember as a team or business treat it as though it were YOUR MONEY!
