Frerotte signing tells Jackson: "Its your team"

The signing of Gus Frerotte instead of a player like Sage Rosenfel clearly indicates to Tavaris Jackson that its his team for 2008, for better or worse.
With Gus Frerotte, Jackson doesnt have to be looking over his shoulder and can be concentrating on becoming a better quarterback.
Frerotte has been with 7 different teams and knows a lot of systems in the NFL. Even though he is not a great, or even very good, quarterback he has a lot of knowledge about the league and will pass it on to Jackson.

Of course, because they didnt make the deal for Rosenfels means that they will have a draft pick they would have used if they had gotten Rosenfels.

Frerotte is "good enough" to be a backup, and to win a game or two if he has to. I like the signing, personally.

I heard comedian Bill Murray (my idol... ) owns interest in a lot of minor league teams in different minor league cities...that would be so cool to do...screw around with a minor league team...that's what I would do...you don't spend millions of millions...and you can have all sorts of gimmicks and promotions...
