Analysis: Filling Minnesota Vikings needs

Based on interviews with coach Brad Childress and VP of player personnel and some educated guessing, it appears likely the Vikings will take a DE in the first round of the draft. They will fill holes of WR and safety through free agency and later rounds in the draft.
Cincinnati's Madieu Williams appears to be the Vikings 1st choice to fill the starting safety spot left open by Dwight Smith's release.
WR Bernard Berrian is expected to get a lot of attention.

Are these guys any better than what they left go??

Berrian's pretty good. Nothing here that makes you really stand up and take notice, though.

Re: Analysis: Filling Minnesota Vikings needs

Last year I saw the Vikings play twice. Adrian Peterson is unfreakingbelivable. Teams putting 8 in the box, and a couple more close to the box, and he still got 6 yards, or more on the run. I can't imagine what it would be like for a Vikings fan to watch that every week, with a quarterback, who is not able to take advantage of it. Frustrating is not powerful a word. I don't want them to, but I think the Vikings could win it all, if they just had an average quarterback.
