Minnesota Vikings defensive end Darrion Scott, who is on injured reserve, was cited for possession of marijuana on Wednesday night in his native Charleston, West Virginia.
WSAZ reports that police patrolling a housing project watched Scott, driving a white SUV with Minnesota plates, stop and meet with a person. Police then followed the SUV, and when Scott failed to signal during a lane change, he was pulled over.
Police say the officer smelled marijuana coming from Scott's SUV and asked Scott if officers could search the vehicle. Officers then brought in a drug dog, and when the doc indicated that illegal substances were in the SUV, they searched it, finding a small bag of marijuana.
Police described Scott as "uncooperative," adding that he asked, "do you know who I am?"
Scott was cited for a misdemeanor but could now face league discipline under the substance-abuse policy.
