After Sean Taylor Death, Pat Williams Carries a Gun When He Answers the Door

The murder of Redskins safety Sean Taylor has led several NFL players to re-assess whether they're safe enough. One such player is Vikings defensive tackle Pat Williams. Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that Williams now carries a 9mm Glock on his hip whenever he answers the door.
"You never know," Williams said. "(Taylor's death) made me more aware. I don't trust nobody.
"I just can't."
Williams checks in with his wife and three kids more often, and he doesn't let anyone do any work at his house unless he is home. When workers arrive, Williams "breaks the rules down" to them.
" 'Get in and get out. Don't talk to nobody,' " Williams said. "If my wife is there by herself, they got to go. They stop until I come back."

Have to do what you have to do to protect your family. I hope Williams has a license for the weapon and knows how to use it though.

Yep, I agree. Packing may not be the PC thing to do, but it can save your life and the lives of your family if you find yourself in a bad situation.

well taylor had a history behind him, i dont think it was just some random person who killed him. if williams doesnt have a history, i dont see why he would be so protective...

They know who killed Taylor. It was some kids, one of whom cut Taylor's lawn on a regular basis. This had nothing to do with his past.

Pro athletes are always targeted. No reason why he shouldn't be protective of his family.

In South America, we read about some horror stories occasionally about a pro athlete's family being kidnapped for ransom, or worse.
