Stacked defensive lines slowing down Peterson

After a humbling 3-yard rushing game at San Francisco, Adrian Peterson said he felt he got back on track in Monday night's victory over Chicago, but it's not like he ran wild.
Heading down the homestretch of what has been a record-setting season for the Vikings' star rookie, that's something opposing defenses are going to great lengths to prevent.
"Guys are really switching it up, and they're bringing different looks," Peterson said Thursday. "Either it's a corner blitz on a lot of different plays, or it's just adding an extra guy in the box. You can tell when you're out there that these guys are going to try to force you to pass the ball."
That's been most evident in the past two games for Peterson, who has been held to 81 yards and 2.4 yards a carry after gaining 1,197 yards with a 6.5 average in his first 10 games.

When it comes to loosening up defenses, there's still really only one solution.
What the Vikings need is for quarterback Tarvaris Jackson to hit a lot more of those passes and make defenses pay for overplaying the run.

As of Friday, he was still questionable.
