The Vikings and coach Brad Childress have signed QB Koy Detmer.

According to the Associated Press, Detmer will "serve as an insurance policy for a banged-up group of quarterbacks... Detmer, in his 10th season in the league, was on the Eagles roster for all seven of Childress' years in Philadelphia. Childress worked with Detmer first as quarterbacks coach and then as offensive coordinator." Good pick up for Minnesota?

I like Koy. Always thought his brother was better, but look at Koy still in the league...he is a good pinch hitter in a limited way.

I agree, and it's always nice when you can sign a guy off the street and he already knows the playbook. Good for emergencies.
