If you haven't seen the highlight yet, you will on ESPN or elsewhere tonight. Adrian Peterson already has the first highlight of what should be a career full of big plays. It's hard to imagin Peterson's Vikings debut going better. He ran for 103 yards showing a great burst and enough power to break the first tackle, but it was his 60-yard catch and run that gives Vikings fans reason to get excited.
Peterson almost didn't catch the pass. Tarvaris Jackson lofted the ball to him after Peterson swung out from the backfield as a safety valve. They caught the Falcons in an all-out blitz, but it almost didn't matter as Peterson bobble the ball high into the air before snagging it again and turning up field. But once he did, he only needed a pair of blocks to jet 60 yards for a touchdown that broke the game open.As a team the Vikings had 302 yards on offense, Peterson had more than half (163) of them.
