Minneapolis Vikings Stadium / Plans for Metrodome move forward, slowly

Talks about a Minnesota Vikings stadium at the Metrodome site in Minneapolis are gearing up, though the project has been under the radar in recent months.

Teresa Sterns, a consultant with Sterns & Associates of St. Paul, on Thursday presented the Metropolitan Sports Facility Commission with a draft "work plan" for the project, a rough timeline for the various pieces involved.

"While there may not appear to have been activity, there has been great activity," Commission Chairman Roy Terwilliger said.

Keeping the Vikings in Minneapolis always has been the goal of Mayor R.T. Rybak, but Anoka County appeared to have stolen the show with a funding and land-use plan to build a stadium in Blaine. Then in November, the curtain fell after the team's overtures to Minneapolis left Anoka County officials feeling upstaged. The county pulled out.

i have to agree.......i havent always been a fan of all the Minn players (like Culpepper)...but, ive always been a fan of the franchise

it would seriously suck if they left that area
