Vikings cut QB Brad Johnson

As the Associated Press is reporting, "In a long-expected move, the Minnesota Vikings released quarterback Brad Johnson on Wednesday and made the 15-year veteran an unrestricted free agent... Tarvaris Jackson, who started the final two games of last season as a rookie, and Brooks Bollinger are the only quarterbacks remaining on the roster." Will they go with Jackson as the starter, or will they be looking to free agency or the draft to land a new QB?

I never got to see Jackson play last season, but he will probably get the starts if it is between him and Bollinger

I too am a big fan of Jackson. I think with a full training camp and time to learn the offense and some NFL defenses he'll be great. Bollinger is a hard working QB. He'll make a great backup if not compete to start. Johnson however from seeing him play last year has nothing left. I'd hang it up if I were him. Reminded me of Testaverde on the Cowboys as the starting QB a little while back.

Johnson is probably through.

Bollinger, as a Jets fan, I never liked. He had hard-working ethics, but couldn't produce results on the field.

I have never seen Jackson play, but I heard he is mediocre. But unlike most other players, he has the potential of being a great player.

Through as a Viking, yes, but not through in the NFL. He just signed with Dallas.

Re: Vikings cut QB Brad Johnson

Johnson has no arm, he is a downgrade from Bledsoe for the Cowboys. He's still got the brains but can't get it done.

As for Jackson, he had an average rookie season, with perhaps the worst receiving core in the league, hopefully our defense carries us and him this year.
