Childress mum on his Vikings QB choice
NFL News - 10 hours ago
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (Dec. 6, 2006) -- Coach Brad Childress knows who will start at quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings on Dec. 10 at Detroit. He's not telling yet.

Childress said he has made a decision between veteran Brad Johnson and rookie Tarvaris Jackson, then resorted to gamesmanship when pressed about which player will be under center against the Lions.

"I'm probably not going to share that with you just because I'm not competitively going to do that," said Childress. He said he has informed the quarterback he has chosen.

Re: Bench Brad Johnson?

Well, should Childress stick with Johnson or give the rookie Jackson a shot?

Re: Bench Brad Johnson?

Give the rookie a shot. The Vikes around going anywhere anyway and Johnson would make a great mentor because at age 38 he doesn't have the physical tools anymore!

I'm with you on this one, Trashed. Time to see if Jackson's any good.

Re: Bench Brad Johnson?

Naw...Jackson is not on par with the other rookies that are starting...let him sit an learn like Daunte did his first year...rookies should sit (unless they are named Peyton) ...its better in the long run.
