Re: Are the Vikings for real?

Are the Minnesota Vikings for real? Andy Benoit of the Sports Network seems to think so. In the above article, he says "It's not often that a home loss to a division opponent leaves people believing in a team, but anyone who watched the Minnesota Vikings (2-1) fall, 19-16, to the Chicago Bears (3-0) on Sunday has reason to be impressed. Granted, this is the NFL and the Vikings are one bad game away from being at .500... but so far they have established an identity and played their brand of football against three 2005 playoff teams, and have come away with a pair of victories... Not bad - not bad, at all."

What do you think? Despite the loss to Chicago, is this a team that can finish with a winning record, and perhaps even make a playoff run? Or are there just too many questionmarks, particularly on offense?

I don't know but they sure look like a solid team. Childress knows what he's doing and Brad Johnson is going to give any team a chance to win. As long as the defense holds up, they should contend with the Bears and possibly a wild card slot.

Re: Are the Vikings for real?

They will be lucky to finish at 8-8, and that's only with wins against the Packers and Lions twice.

c'mon legend, that seems a little harsh

seems to me 8-8 would be a good finish in his 1st year

and with the remaining schedule, id say they have a real shot at 10 wins

2 wins right now

2 each with GB and Detroit
1 with Arizona
1 with Miami
1 with San Fran
1 with St Louis

I fail to see why everyone is enamored with Brad Johnson. What exactly is it that he has done that I missed?

Re: Are the Vikings for real?

Unless Chester Taylor gets hurt and they are forced to pass the ball, the Purple are doomed to finish under .500 and only ahead of Green Bay and Detroit in the division. Then again, Troy Williamson needs to catch the ball also, when they DO throw it.

We (ok.. we being Vikings) will split with Green Bay, no matter how @#%tty they are, the Packers manage to pull off a victory against the Vikings.

The only time the games have been even somewhat interesting to watch is when they NEED to score fast.

It's gonna be a long Minnesota winter, at least we've got hockey. (I'd say T'wolves but who the heck knows anymore.)

He's a Super Bowl Winning QB (granted with that spectacular Tampa defense of yesteryear) and he has found to be a winning QB wherever he's gone. I forget the specific numbers but on every team he's played for, he has a winning record with.

Winning QB is Brad Johnson.
