I didnt see the whole thing but on NFL Live I believe he said something about trying to protect Harvin?
I actually believe it was an attempt to get in with his teammates and close what ever chasms there were in the locker room.
Brett has never made a play like that in his life to my knowledge. I could be wrong.

I dont believe for one minute it was malicious. Thats simply not Brett's style. I think he reacted without putting his brain in motion, because he could have ended his career also. No matter why he did it, I am not by any means approving of his actions.
