| Re: Twins acquire Phil Nevin So the Minnesota Twins will become Phil Nevin's third team of the 2006 season, after the club acquired the first baseman and cash from the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named later. The 35-year-old Nevin was hitting .274 with 12 homers and 33 RBIs in 179 at-bats for the Cubbies and is expected to DH in Minnesota, replacing the struggling Rondell White. How much will this trade help the Twins in their quest to win the Wild Card?

| Re: Twins acquire Phil Nevin I don't think Nevin will make a big impact this last stretch before the post-season. Rondell White has been struggling all season long, but I'm not sure how much better Nevin will be. You haven't heard of Nevin recently this season doing spectacularly well as he did with the Padres a while ago, so I don't think he will do that well with the Minnesota Twins. He is no longer a potential MVP winner and he is growing older every second. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires sometime after the season. |
