Post Minnesota pitcher Matt Garza

Sounds like this rook Garza's starting to come around... shame the Twins couldn't pull this one out for him.

Minnesota's Matt Garza (1-3) was almost as good.

In his fourth major league start, Garza allowed five hits and two earned runs in 7 2/3 innings, striking out a career-high seven and walking one. Garza, who gave up 10 runs in 7 2/3 innings in his previous two home starts, lowered his ERA in the Metrodome from 11.74 to 7.04. He retired 10 of the last 12 batters he faced.
If he keeps improving like this, Garza might be a pitcher to keep an eye on next season, eh?

Re: Minnesota pitcher Matt Garza

He still has a high ERA of 7.04, including the two horrific starts he made previously before the his latest start which was phenominal. I would keep him under my radar since he has the potential, but I'd like to see how well he performs in more games before I make any decisions.

Re: Minnesota pitcher Matt Garza

He was/is the best pitcher in the Twins minor league system so I wouldn't expect him to be terrible in the majors. Good to see the kid turn the proverbial corner after a slow beginning in the majors. He's thrusted into a heated race but we'll see if he can face the adversity dead on.
