| Re: Bad Move By Twins Hard to argue with what Minnesota did, considering they're 62-50 and in a virtual tie atop the AL Central right now. Would they be better with Santana and Hunter? Maybe, maybe not. But they're still winning and they trimmed a ton of payroll with those deals. Personally, I wish my Pirates would take some lessons from a team like this or the Oakland A's, because they've mastered the art of balancing winning and keeping the payroll down.

| Re: Bad Move By Twins Some of these teams, and Minnesota's definitely one of them, never *really* go into rebuilding mode. They dump stars and still are contenders. Last edited by Lefty Noob : 08-05-2008 at 12:10 PM. Reason: fixing spelling |

| Re: Bad Move By Twins Well, uh, we were talking about the Twins success. And if dumping Hunter and Santana was indeed a bad move, then one certainly does have to look at Gardenhire and the job he's done as one of the prime reasons for that success, wouldn't you agree? |
