| Twins Game Postponed due to Bridge Collapse According to the Associated Press, "The Minnesota Twins have postponed Thursday's game against Kansas City following a bridge collapse near the Metrodome and team president Dave St. Peter said their weekend series with Cleveland also could be affected."
They played Wednesday after being advised by public safety officials that it would be better to do so than to sent out the 20,000-plus fans on hand back out into traffic. "It is a difficult situation, but it was the right thing to do to play tonight," St. Peter told reporters. "Tomorrow is a different story. Not playing tomorrow is also a matter of traffic control. We are respectful of the situation and for the lives lost."
Kudos to the Twins for doing their best to help this situation out, both last night and today. |
