Morneau's first All-Star Game

Just heard on ESPN that this will be Justin Morneau's first All-Star Game, and I've got to admit, I'm stunned.

The dude was the MVP last year, and he didn't even make the All-Star Game? How in the world did something like that happen?

Good question: But it was in an NL Park so you had Ortiz, Konerko and Thome already on the team so it was a numbers thing.

They should always use the DH in the All Star game, in either park, but that would make too much sense for Bud Selig to comprehend.

Justin got off to a bad first half...so much so, that I got him from my Fantasy winning franchise... He was no All-Star in the 1st half.

I think he is also hurt from playing in Minnesota. he doesn't get enough press. I wasn't even aware that he was having this good of a year. I knew he was hitting well until the injury, but not this good.

True, people can get lost in the shuffle in Minnesota...but free agency will come some day for this kid...he will end up on one of the coast teams with money...

Does anybody know when he's eligible for free agency? Hmm...there's a team on the East Coast that wears pinstripes and an interlocking NY that are going to need a first baseman and who will be glad to make him very rich.

That would be just what the kid needs. He'd wind up a major star in the Big Apple, instead of being one of the most underrated players in the game.

True - assuming he has the personality for New York...The last guy who came from Minnesota had a lot of trouble....Chuck "Block head" Knaublach...
